You can always tell when the holidays are here…

You feel a little out of sorts… Maybe melancholy… 😞 😢

Why now and how do you handle the ‘holiday blues‘?

There are many reasons why we may feel melancholy. Depending on the area of the country you live in, there is less sunlight and colder temperatures. The pressure at Christmas time to spend money could add financial stress. Or you may be grieving a loved one that is no longer around to spend the holidays with.

Here are 5 tips to get you through the holidays:

  1.  Embrace Change: Allow yourself to adapt to changes in traditions or plans. Sometimes, new experiences can bring unexpected joy.
  2. Focus on Gratitude: Reflect on the positive aspects of your life. Gratitude can shift your perspective and improve your overall mood.
  3. Limit Social Media: Reduce exposure to idealized versions of the holidays on social media. Real life is often more nuanced, and comparisons can contribute to the blues.
  4. Get Moving: Physical activity releases endorphins, which can improve your mood. Take a walk, try a new exercise routine, or dance to your favorite music.
  5. Seek Support: Share your feelings with a friend or family member. Sometimes, expressing your emotions can provide relief and support.

Merry Christmas & Happy Holidays!
